Privacy Policy

Streakly (“the app”) is a habit and streak tracker for Android. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it doesn’t send it anywhere, because it can’t.

What we collect

The app does not declare the Android INTERNET permission. Without that permission the Android operating system will not allow the app to open a network connection, so it is technically incapable of sending your information off your device. You can verify this yourself by inspecting the app’s manifest.

There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising libraries and no advertising identifiers.

What is stored on your device

The habits you create, their schedules and reminder times, the days you have checked off, any notes you write on a day, and your theme preference are saved in a single file inside the app’s private storage area. Only Streakly can read it. It never leaves your phone unless you deliberately export it.

Health and fitness data (Health Connect)

Streakly can fill a habit in automatically from a wearable — “walk 8,000 steps” ticks itself once your watch has recorded them. This is entirely optional and off until you turn it on.

• How it works. Your watch or fitness app writes its data into Health Connect, an on-device store that is part of Android. Streakly asks Health Connect for a daily total and writes that number against the matching habit. Health Connect never leaves your phone, and neither does the number Streakly reads from it.
• What is read. Only the metrics you have attached to a habit, and only ever today’s totals: steps, exercise minutes, distance, sleep duration, mindful minutes, hydration and active calories. Streakly asks for read permission on those metrics alone — if no habit uses sleep, Streakly never asks to read sleep.
• Read only. Streakly declares no permission to write or delete health data.
• What is kept. Only the resulting whole number for the day (for example 6240 against your step habit), stored in the same private file as the rest of your habits. No raw health records, timestamps, heart rate, routes or location are copied or kept.
• No sharing. This data is not transmitted, sold or shared with anyone, including us. It cannot be: the app has no network permission. Health data is never used for advertising or analytics, and Streakly runs no advertising or analytics of any kind.
• Turning it off. Set a habit’s “Track from your watch” back to Off, or revoke Streakly’s access at any time in Android Settings → Security & privacy → Health Connect → App permissions. Revoking access stops all reading immediately; numbers already recorded against past days stay in your habit history until you delete them.

Backups you create yourself

Settings → Your data → Export backup writes a .json file to a location you choose using the Android system file picker. Where that file goes and who can see it afterwards is entirely under your control. Streakly does not upload it.

If you have Android’s system backup enabled for the app, Android may include Streakly’s data file in your device backup. That is a Google Android platform feature governed by Google’s privacy policy, not by Streakly.

Permissions

Streakly requests no location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage or network permissions, and no permission to write health data.

Children

Streakly is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Deleting your data

Delete an individual habit from its detail screen, or uninstall the app to remove everything. Uninstalling deletes the app’s private storage, including all habit history. Because nothing is stored on any server, there is nothing else to request the deletion of.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new “Last updated” date.
